Dynamic Audio for Angry Bots

Project Overview:

For the game "Angry Bots," I developed and integrated a comprehensive audio system that dynamically adjusts based on in-game events and enemy interactions:

  1. Music System:

    • Ambient Music: Created low-energy ambient tracks for calm states.

    • Combat Music: Designed specific combat stems for three enemy types (buzzer, mech, spider) that intensify as enemies engage, using vertical composition to smoothly layer and transition audio.

    • Stingers: Added high-intensity stingers to signal enemy detection for each enemy type, enhancing gameplay tension.

  2. Sound Effects:

    • Ambient Sounds: Developed ambient effects for different environments (exterior rain, interior hum).

    • Enemy Sounds: Created unique audio for each enemy, including alert signals, destruction, and combat actions:

      • Flying Buzzer: Zap electric, destroyed explosion.

      • Mech: Alert sound, footsteps, missile shooting and explosions, destroyed explosion.

      • Spider: Alert, proximity warning, self-destruct, destroyed explosion.

    • Player and Environment: Designed sounds for player actions and environmental interactions:

      • Doors: Airlock and interior door sounds (open/close, locked).

      • Terminal: Hacking success audio.

      • Player Actions: Shooting and hitting sounds.

  3. Integration:

    • Implemented all audio elements in Unity using Wwise to handle real-time event triggers and transitions.

    • Utilized vertical composition techniques to manage dynamic layering and smooth transitions between different music stems based on gameplay states and enemy encounters.

This project showcases my ability to create immersive, adaptive audio experiences that react seamlessly to gameplay, enhancing the overall player engagement and atmosphere.
