Project Overview:
For the game VA-QUE-RI-TOS, I composed a horizontally structured soundtrack designed to immerse players in a playful Wild West atmosphere. The music was composed, mixed, and mastered entirely in Logic Pro, with a focus on crafting dynamic and endlessly fresh variations of the same piece.
Dynamic Music Structure:
Composed 1 intro, 3 main loops, and 1 outro, all designed to merge seamlessly.
Implemented horizontal composition so these segments could be triggered in random order, creating infinite, non-repetitive variations of the track.
This approach ensures the music always feels fresh and adaptive, responding naturally to gameplay flow.
Instrumentation & Aesthetic:
Focused on a cowboy aesthetic to reinforce the Wild West theme.
Incorporated instruments characteristic of the setting, such as acoustic guitars, harmonicas, rhythmic percussion, and twangy strings.
Layered sound design elements inspired by cowboy culture to add personality and authenticity to the music.
Sound Design and Spatial Techniques:
Integrated panning effects for specific sound elements (such as ricochets or environmental sounds) to create motion and immersion.
Combined traditional composition with subtle sound design, ensuring the soundtrack felt both musical and environmental.
