Project Overview:
For the horror audiobook Last Breath, a story centered on the terrifying kidnapping of a woman, I designed a full audio experience that combined voiceover, sound effects, ambience, and original music. The objective was to immerse listeners in a tense, unsettling atmosphere that heightened the narrative impact.
Voiceover Editing:
Edited and cleaned the VO in Reaper, ensuring clarity and emotional emphasis matched the pacing of the story.
Removed unwanted noise and balanced levels to keep the narration at the center of the experience.
Sound Design & Foley:
Recorded custom foley effects to match key actions and enhance realism, including subtle movements, atmospheric textures, and unsettling noises.
Designed ambient layers to place the listener inside the story’s environment, from claustrophobic interiors to eerie outdoor settings.
Music Composition:
Composed original eerie tracks in Logic Pro using unsettling instruments and synths.
Focused on evoking unease, fear, and psychological tension, complementing the darker themes of the audiobook.
Immersive Techniques:
Used panning to spatialize sounds and voices, giving the listener a sense of movement and presence within the scene.
Created dynamic contrasts between still, quiet moments and sudden bursts of sound to build suspense.
Mixing & Mastering:
Mixed and mastered in Reaper, balancing VO, ambience, foley, and music to create a polished, professional final product.
Ensured that all elements supported the storytelling without overpowering the narration.
This project highlights my ability to create immersive audiobook soundscapes through a combination of sound design, foley, music, and mixing techniques. Last Breath demonstrates my capacity to craft an audio experience that engages listeners and intensifies the emotional weight of the narrative.
